The Idea

I started this project with the idea of picking up blocks based on their color. The first hurdle was to think about how it would scoop up the blocks. I decided on doing a horizontal system, rather than a vertical scooping design. I had to hand cut the arms and body as well as the pieces onboard the robot that help with the block capturing.

The next roadblock was imagining how it would roll around the table. I decided on having only two wheels and sculpted a ramp to allow the blocks to slide up.

I then just started putting things on where I imagined they'd work and to my luck they did. With some fiddling I changed the angle of the arms and the table sensors.

My robot then came together pretty well after that and I had to initiate the software programs which was pretty simple. The robot is pretty much done, I just need to work out some of the software kinks.
